Hello cambridge, welcome to the final weeks of my portfolio project, today we will be discussing an issue I came across while filming my opening. It is undeniably important to include the bumps in the road that occur when creating any production, It shows a sense realism. With that being said, let's see what obstacles I ran into, overcame and successful made work this week.
In previous weeks blog post, I had reflected on how I wanted my film opening to play out. In other words, I created a script. With in mind, the maximum time limit for this project, I created a small but detailed script that would give outsiders a taste of each characters personality and get a general idea of what my entire film may look like.
However, due to writing formally and professionally constantly, It had slipped my mind that the assigned lines to my specific character Luca( who is only 8 years old) might be hard to memorize and properly enunciate each sybil and word so the audience could understand what he was staying. I tried breaking down the sentences as it was written in the script and even tried tongue twisters, but It was it difficult for him and for me to continue the filming process. Down below is an example of a scene where I had to fix the lines of my character Luca to better my actor.
My character Luca said:
Original Line: "No, we're going to put on the flyer what we're looking for and hang them around town!"
As a result of this, I had to modify other lines as well but this is just one example.I am willing to do absolutely anything to create a better experience for my actors.
