As we get closer and closer to the end. It is important to begin and finalize the editing process of my portfolio project. In earlier blog posts, I discussed sound and how I edited it into my final production piece. In this post I will specifically be talking about the coloring and transitions in my opening.
In certain parts of my film opening I have decided to use a black and white filter to freeze the live scene that was going to introduce the starring characters and important titles I needed to include. In fact, this was a brand-new idea, and I thought of it as I was editing. Incorporating fun moments like this gives the audience a chance to catch the production titles and visualize the frozen picture. In my case, in a comedic way. For example, my character Luca. After he storms off the field. There is a moment where he freezes in an annoyed or frustrated stance- then introducing him.
When it comes to transitions, it was a simple task to complete. I mostly used transitions like fade, dissolve, and wipe. Using an easy editing platform like iMovie makes this process 10 times easier. I can't wait to see the final product.
