Hi everyone! I cannot believe I get to say in just a short matter of time that I finished my 2025 portfolio project. Throughout this process, a variety of emotions came upon me. 8 weeks (about 2 months) seems like a lot of time, but let me tell you, time flew by soooo fast.
When we were first introduced to this project, after reading the directions I was in shock and recognized that this project must be taken seriously, and this is not a lower-level course. I did not know where to start. Should I start filming right away? What If I do not finish in time? Now looking back at these questions I had asked myself, it was silly. Our teacher gave us an incredible amount of guidance. Taking us through each step specifically and was always available to answer questions.
During the preparation for filming, I took a little longer because I wanted to make sure I had my idea fully planned out so there would be no room for mistakes. Then, I would be in class and people would have already said that they finished filming, and they were beginning editing. In parts of this project, I felt as if I was a step behind. Like everyone was moving at such a fast pace. I later realized that if you have your project submitted on time and you are happy with the result , it does not matter because everyone's thinking process is different.
This process made me realize a lot of things. One of those things is the ability to be proud of your own work. In the beginning of this project, I had such a big idea for what I wanted to do, and a lot of those things that I wanted to accomplish were just too big for me to fulfill as a beginner filmmaker. I felt as if my film was not good enough. This process also made me realize that you cannot procrastinate, there is no room to. You must be working on this project constantly.
Here is a video that I created during my filming process to include in my final reflection.
I think blogging weekly not only shows Cambridge that you are actively working through this process, but it really did help me when creating my CCR's and creating my overall film. This is because I did this research weeks ago (as assigned), all I must do is apply the information. However, I can say that when I was doing the research for my film, it was a little lengthy and those blog posts did take me a little longer, but once you get into the groove of it, I could say it is way better. However, there are some weeks I procrastinated and did my blog posts later in the week instead of the beginning of the week but overall wonderful experience with blogger.
Editing. Not my strongest suit, I knew what I was getting into when this project was introduced, but this project motivated me to want to know how improve my editing. Especially since I am interested in taking the A level version of this class.
This process took a lot of dedication and hard work. I can say I am quite proud of what I did, and I am relieved. Unfortunately, this is the last actual blog post, I will see you all soon!
Peace Out!
