CCR group meeting summary

Hiii blog! Today in class, we were broken up into groups. Our initial assignment was to discuss with our assigned groups our overall projects, editing, CCR, helpful techniques and formulate ideas to help each other with our projects.

Additionally, we first talked talked about our editing. I commented that I was in the process of finalizing my project. Amanda, shared that she also wasn't done editing her film opening. Since Nicholas is working in a pair, his partner has the other footage so they have to combine both parts of the film. He quotes "were about 50% done editing". Ariana shared that her group of 4 finished editing and ready for us to see the final result. As a group we watched her film opening and provided critiques. For instance, I quoted "Maybe change the color of the title "cinematography" because it blends in with the dark background".

Eventually, we came to the topic of obstacles. Only few people shared there obstacles. Specifically, Ariana discussed how her group has two characters playing the same role. In other words, the two girls has different clothing and shoes sizes so in her film opening their is a continuity issue. I also talked about my obstacles with castings. How I had 1 out of the 2 actors I wanted to be in my film opening. However,  one of the my actors couldn't film on the same days I was available.

Since, we already talked about other aspects of our project. It's finally time to discuss our CCR! We expressed it was a sense of relief  to finalize every part of our project. We were all a bit stuck on what we should do that's actually creative. I suggested that Ariana do a documentary style/directors commentary interview. I also suggested  Nicholas to maybe do a directors commentary located in the setting he shot his film opening.
As a result of having a group discussion, It helped me realize certain things about my project and help me formulate new ideas.

Research CCR #1

Hello blog! Now that editing has finally been completed for my film opening it is time to create my CCR. In other words, my Creative Critical Reflection. A CCR is a reflects of the overall process of your film opening.  Which has four overall questions you must answer in whatever media product you desire.

Question 1:

How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

To be able to fully understand the depths of this question it is important to break it down. This question includes genre conventions, some personal conventions I choose, and representation.

I am thinking of creating a talk show for this question, this is an innovative way of addressing the question while also being creative. One person will be asking me questions revolving around genre, genre conventions, my personal choices, and what executive decisions I made to ensure that I included representation. I will be making my script hopefully in the beginning of next week and filming it.

However, since editing took me a little longer, I must pick up the pace. I am planning to answer questions one and two in this talk show and for my next blog post on Creative Critical Reflection. I will be posting my script.

I am looking forward to starting the second part of my portfolio project. Stay tuned!
