Media Theory 2/12/25

  Out of all of the media theories that have been introduced within the class, I have chosen one that best aligns with my storyline. The theory I have choose to integrate within my film opening is Todorov's Narrative Theory of Equilibrium.

Todorov goes in depth of multiple sub-topics to further break the storyline down.  Here are some of sub-topics are include but not limited to: equilibrium, disequilibrium and new equilibrium. In the equilibrium portion of his theory, it expresses the how the audience is introduced to the storyline and characters. 

  

 I feel as if this theory would align with my project because I have to complete my film opening doing what the theory states and include film techniques. For example, mis-en-scene- which incorporates techniques that involve character development and specifics. Todorov's theory bests fits my film opening idea and will further develop it using his strategies.
