SCRIPT: CCR response 1- questions 1 & 2

Questions that will be answered in a directors commentary:

How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Question 1 response:

Hi everyone! welcome to my first CCR for my portfolio project. What a long journey it's been. I can say there will be a sense relief and sadness, but everything comes to end. Anyways, with that being that let's go over question 1.

The question states "How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?". So this question is asking me about genre conventions, personal choices as a film creator and representation.

As you can see in the image above, some genre conventions. Since my film opening is a Sports - Comedy, I choose to demonstrate bright colors. For example, including mis-en-scene elements like costuming and overall bright setting for a bright comedic look. And obviously choose a sport to focus on.

Representation was and still is incredibly important to acknowledge when creating any film. I strongly choose to include two opposite genders for my film. As all of you watching may know, baseball is considered a "boy" sport. Well I choose to break the stereotypical thoughts of gender roles and society. I wanted to have a girl that enjoys baseball.

Question 2 response:

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Now that we've gone over question 1, let's go to question 2.

My ideal target audience is ultimately any age. This is because I want my film  to be suitable for everyone. Young or old short or tall.  I would want anyone to see this film. If I had to choose somebody to specifically see it. It would probably have to be some one who is interested in baseball.

Production choices. One of the production choices I've made is to include a font that represents my characters and sets a joyful, uplifting tone.By the use of a variety of colors and font choice. Another choice I made was instead of having baseball "base". In others words, what each player runs on in order to receive points, I choose to use stuffed animals. This is because I want the audience to feel a sense of emotion when they realize my two characters really have no one to play with. Think of it as a representation of looniness and imaginative friends.

How I plan to distribute my film is through youtube but you would have to buy it . Since anyone is able to create on youtube, I can't think of a better platform. I also would stream on Tubi. It's a smaller platform compared  to  Netflix or Hulu, but those top streaming platforms would be something I would consider after the film gains more attention and views.

Thats a wrap on my first CCR video answer questions 1 & 2 Stay tuned!
