Three Credit Sequences 2/7/25

    Ferris Bueller Credits

The first opening credit I have analyzed is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. It begins with bright letters introducing Paramount Pictures. The audience members can hear a loud radio that slowly dies down. While still including multiple credits the radio dialogue gives us simple information about the weather, then cuts into the opening scene. As the scene continues, the starring characters name titles appear in bright letters but not taking away from what is happening in the scene. There is comedic dialogue and the use of facial expression to develop character.

Daddy Daycare Opening

The second opening credit I have analyzed is Daddy Daycare. It introduces the film by having upbeat music and slowly fades into the scene. The bold credits are easily recognizable by the bright colors and font. The particular font is used to develop intricate details of the storyline. For example, the cover of the film shows protagonist, Eddie Murphy overwhelmed by young kids, the font may foreshadow the possible age of the characters. The opening credits is a getting ready f sequence. The credits are well versed within the opening, matching the exact mood and tone. There is also comedic elements of this opening that I enjoyed and would want to incorporate in my project.

Are We There Yet ? Opening   The final opening credit I have analyzed is Are We There Yet? It starts off with the main character played by 'Ice Cube' immediately showing off character and giving brief context within the sound and visual effects that are incorporated in this opening. The music playing in while credits are incorporated creates a confident, victorious, upbeat tone. Many elements of mise-en-scene helps further develop the opening by the lighting, costuming and many more aspects. The opening includes many close ups to show important details. For example, when the protagonist receives keys from the salesman, as an audience we can correlate the mise-en-scene elements with the included facial reactions and dialogue to connect these two things.  The credits are integrated within the scene. It is typed in cursive lettering to add specific details to the opening credits.
